Michigan architecture school by Preston Scott Cohen

Ironspot brick and a sawtooth roof define the exterior of this new wing for the Michigan architecture school. It was designed by US studio Preston Scott Cohen.

Located on the university’s campus in Ann Arbor, USA, the Taubman Building adjoins the existing Art and Architecture Building. This brick-and-glass structure was designed by Robert Saarinen Swanson, the grandson of Eliel Saarinen. It opened in 1974.

The project entailed creating a new3,344 square metres wing and renovating 1,022 square metres of existing space.
