Haworth Germany’s Christmas thought

The employees of Haworth Germany, part of American professional furniture maker Haworth, have decide to support betterplace.org instead of receiving a Christmas gift from their employer.

betterplace.org is the largest German platform for social projects, supporting more than 5,000 projects by 380,000 people.

Henning Figge, VP Haworth Europe and CEO of Haworth Germany commented: “Social responsibility as well as the social commitment of our employees is one of the key principles at Haworth. We are therefore especially pleased that the initiative ‘No Christmas gifts but a good deed’ was initiated by our employees.”

Michael Kaiser, Director Marketing and Sales with Haworth Germany added: “betterplace.org is a technology-driven, open platform, that offers transparency in social projects, which fits with Haworth.”

Christian Kraus, Board Member at betterplace.org said: “Helping to ensure that the donor market becomes larger, more efficient and effective and to create a sustainable, scalable, and non-profit enterprise, calls for good working circumstances. We spend many hours every day in front of our computers, unfortunately often not with the right equipment and lacking the knowledge to correct behaviour around the topic of ergonomics.

Having said that, it was not just a donation but real social commitment of Haworth.”
