Fritz Hansen acquires all Poul Kjærholm rights
Danish designed furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen has acquired the rights of the entire product portfolio designed by Poul Kjærholm.
In 1982, Fritz Hansen purchased the rights from Danish manufacturer E. Kold Christensen but in 2003, some of these product rights were sold to Poul Kjærholm’s son, Thomas Kjærholm, who then founded the company Kjærholm Production.
Fritz Hansen has now bought back the rights to the products PK11, PK55 and PK51, PK62, PK63 and PK63A and PK65.
Rationale for the acquisition is the increased international attention for Danish design furniture, according to Fritz Hansen.
Fritz Hansen will produce the products at its facility in Allerød, Denmark.
